As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) pulled out of the alliance with People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Jammu & Kashmir on Tuesday, political leaders from all over the country took to Twitter to express themselves.
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “Didn’t BJP tell us that demonetisation had broken the back of terrorism in Kashmir? Then what happened?”
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav wrote: “After running & ruining J&K for 3.4 years the self claimed nationalist & opportunist BJP suddenly realised they are not capable of controlling terrorism, violence & its promises so they run away from key roles & responsibilities. Height of Opportunism! Both in J&K and Bihar.”
Congress’ official Twitter handle mentioned: “An opportunistic alliance has come to an end. BJP is running away after destroying the peace in the valley.”
Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah posted a news report on Mehbooba Mufti on Twitter and wrote: “She was cutting ribbons while the BJP was cutting her legs out from under her. How I wish she had left with her head held high & her dignity intact! She was J&K’s CM, not of the BJPDP.”
