Buoyed by the recent performance in Kairana, Gorakhpur and Phulpur by-polls, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav said his party will continue with the alliance with Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) in the next year’s general election even if they have to give up some seats.
While addressing a rally, Yadav said their only aim was to defeat Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and they have no problem leaving some seats for the BSP.
Earlier, on the basis of 2017 assembly elections, an analysis predicted BJP may lose around 50 seats among its strength of 72 in the 80-seat state in the 2019 Lok Shobha election.
