Rs 7 crore seized in ED raid from Kolkata businessman in gaming app scam case
Raids were conducted in at least six locations.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting searches at six locations in Kolkata on Saturday in connection with the probe of an alleged case of fraud through mobile gaming app. So far, Rs 7 crore has been seized in cash. A team of ED officers, which also had with it bank officials, searched the premises of businessman Amir Khan in Kolkata’s Garden Reach area on Sunday.
Cash worth Rs 7 crore and property documents were seized in the raids. Cash counting machines were taken to the various raid premises to finalise the exact amount seized. The raids started from 8 am and has been continuing. The cash was allegedly under a bed in plastic packets. These were in 500 and 2000 rupee denominations. The raid premises include New Town, Park Street, Mominpur, Garden Reach among others.
