BJP takes out rally in Salt Lake, police use water cannons to disperse
The rally was led by Sukanta Majumdar & Tejasvi Surya among others.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday took out a rally to protest against various education policies and decisions of the Mamata Banerjee government. The rally was started in Salt Lake, and began to move towards Bikash Bhawan. Police used water cannons to disperse the protesting BJP workers. The rally was being led by state BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar and BJYM national president Tejasvi Surya, among others.
The BJP youth workers were moving from Karunamoyee towards Bikash Bhawan. They were stopped on the way by police barricades, and the BJP workers tried to cross over the barricades when police intervened and sprayed water on them. They state’s Opposition party was protesting various issues, including the alleged scam in the appointment of teachers.
