The 70-year-old man, a retired official of a public sector bank, in a fit of rage started beating up his wife and daughter. The young woman somehow managed to escape from the scene of the violence and slipped into another room in the apartment and called up Thakurpukur police. However, the police station did not react promptly. Then she took to Twitter. Her plea to the police was to save her mother from her father’s rage. She also wrote that she had somehow managed to lock herself up in a room to avoid being beaten up by her father, who otherwise could have snatched her phone and broke it into pieces.
