Sudipta Sen, owner of Saradha who is currently in prison has written to the court through jail authorities that his properties are being forcibly taken over by some people. The chit group is alleged to have cheated thousands of investors in West Bengal, Odisha and other states.
In the letter written to a Metropolitan Magistrates Court Judge, Sen has alleged that many of his properties, including those attached by the central investigating agency, Enforcement Directorate, were being illegally sold and were changing hands. In some cases, land mafias have started construction work, Sen wrote. He has also alleged that the central investigating agency was not taking proper interest in the case. On the basis of this letter, the judge has asked the investigating officer of the ED to file a report to the court.
Sen was taken to the court in connection with the hearing of the Saradha case on Friday. There, the letter written by him came up for discussion and Sen said that he had come to know about the illegal transfer of his properties through one of his employees. Several properties of the Saradha group have been attached by the ED. There are some other properties that have been identified, but are yet to be attached as all documents could not be traced.
Sen’s letter has generated a lot of interest and many are questioning who might be behind the illegal transfer of Saradha properties.
