Maharashtra Police issues warning to those sharing disturbing photos of Sushant Singh Rajput: delete or face action
Maharashtra Cyber, the nodal agency under the Maharashtra government for investigating cyber crime, has issued a warning to those circulating “disturbing” photographs of Sushant Singh Rajput. The 34-year-old actor was found dead in his Mumbai home on Sunday, with police stating that it was death by suicide.
In a series of tweets from its official Twitter handle, Maharashtra Cyber authorities stated that circulation of the pictures are illegal and in bad taste. Those who have shared such pictures have been asked to delete them or face legal action.
The tweet mentioned: “A disturbing trend has been observed on Social Media platforms by Maharashtra Cyber that pictures of deceased actor Shri Sushant Singh Rajput are being circulated, which are disturbing and in bad taste. It is emphasised that circulation of such pictures is against legal guidelines and court directions, and are liable to invite legal action. Maharashtra Cyber exhorts and directs all netizens to refrain from circulating the aforesaid pictures. The pictures already circulated should be deleted henceforth.”
Sushant Singh Rajput was one of the top Bollywood actors who acted in films like Kai Po Che!, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Chichhore among others, after a very successful stint in television.
