Rahul & Sonia Gandhi have been summoned for questioning in the National Herald money laundering case.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday reached the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Delhi after a huge protest organised by his party. The Congress leader has been summoned for questioning in the National Herald money laundering case.

Roads leading to the ED office were filled with party workers protesting in which several top leaders of the party were present. Rahul Gandhi was accompanied by his sister, Congress’ general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. The Congress’ march was stopped by police at several points. Some sat on the street and continued the protest while some Congress workers were detained and taken away in buses as they shouted slogans. Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala said that the barricading of the “whole of Delhi proves that the government fears us”.

Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi reached the Congress headquarters at first, where top leaders of the party had gathered for the protest. Leaders included Ashok Gehlot, Bhupesh Baghel, P Chidambaram, Digvijay Singh, Jairam Ramesh, Sachin Pilot among others.

Protests are on in other parts of the country, including Madhya Pradesh, Assam and so on. The Congress has been accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in the Central government using Central investigating agencies against the Opposition leaders.

Other than Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi too has been summoned by the ED in the same case. She has asked for more time as she tested positive for COVID-19 and was admitted to a hospital. The ED has issued a fresh summons date for her on June 23.
