Rahul Gandhi reaches ED office for second day, Congress continues protest
Congress’ “satyagraha” against the Centre’s “misuse of the law” will continue, says P Chidambaram.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday reached the office of the Enforcement Directorate for the second day of questioning in the National Herald money laundering case. The ED had questioned him for ten hours on Monday and asked him to appear on Tuesday for another round of questioning.
Congress workers along with senior leaders protested on the streets like they had on Monday. Leaders KC Venugopal, Adhir Chowdhury, Gaurav Gogoi and some others were taken in police custody, according to reports. Senior leader P Chidambaram was quoted saying that the Congress’ “satyagraha” against the Centre’s “misuse of the law” will continue.
On Monday too, Congress workers had protested on the streets of Delhi, along with senior leaders. The party said that police manhandled many senior leaders and at least four of them – former Union Home and Finance minister P Chidambaram and Congress leader in the Lok Sabha Adhir Chowdhury – sustained injuries.
