Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Saurav Ganguly was taken to a hospital in Kolkata on Wednesday afternoon after he complained of discomfort in the chest since Tuesday evening.
His family members have reportedly spoken to doctors over phone and decided to take him to the hospital since the discomfort continued.
Ganguly had been admitted to Kolkata’s Woodlands Hospital three weeks back after he felt dizzy during a workout session at the gym in his house and underwent angioplasty on being diagnosed with three blocked coronary arteries. One stent was inserted to remove the blockage. After a few days, he was released from the hospital and advised rest.
During his earlier stay in hospital, there were talks that Ganguly was under “pressure” though the BCCI president refused to answer such questions during his release. There have been speculations on Saurav Ganguly becoming Bharatiya Janata Party’s face for the chief minister in Bengal, but the former skipper of the Indian cricket team had refused to comment on the matter.
