The Supreme Court has postponed the hearing on Rajeev Kumar’s anticipatory bail to Friday, November 29. Hearing for the case which was to take place today, got held up as solicitor general Tushar Mehta was appearing for the Maharashtra case.
The case was to be heard by a bench headed by Chief Justice S A Bobde. The Central Bureau of Investigation had on October 4 appealed to the apex court, challenging Calcutta High Court’s October 1 order, which granted Kumar anticipatory bail if he is arrested by the central investigating agency.
The CBI had moved Supreme Court against the order, saying that custodial interrogation of Kumar is required in connection with the Saradha chit fund probe.
