213 cases of Omicron in India; PM Modi’s review meeting tomorrow

The number of Omicron cases in India has increased to 213 in India. Delhi and Maharashtra have reported the highest number of cases so far. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a review meeting on the situation tomorrow, it was reported.
Delhi has so far reported 57 cases, followed by Maharashtra (54 cases) and Telengana (24 cases). Other states to have reported high number of cases are Karnataka (19), Rajasthan (18), Kerala (15) and Gujarat (14). Three cases have been reported from Jammu and Kashmir and two each from Odisha and Uttar Pradesh. One case each have been reported from Andhra Pradesh, Ladakh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Chandigarh.
The Centre has asked states to activate “war rooms” to handle the situation in the coming days, and advised on imposing curbs like night curfew, regulating gatherings etc.
The number of coronavirus cases in India reached 3,47,58,481 today after 6,317 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, an increase of 18 per cent in a day. The total number of deaths in the pandemic has been 4.78 lakh.
