Six persons from West Bengal are said to be missing for the past three days since the Uttarakhand glacier burst. They worked in the state to work at the Tapovan Hydroelectric Power Dam that was washed away, according to a report of Hindustan Times.
Till now, 31 bodies have been found and more than 170 persons are missing. The six missing persons are from three different districts of the state – East Midnapore, Purulia Arsha and Malda.
Lalu Jana, Bulu Jana and Sandip Guriya from Mahishadal in East Midnapore were among those reported missing, Subhankar Tantubai and Ashwini Tantubai from Purulia’s Arsha, and Anesh Sheikh from Malda were the others from Bengal.
Relatives of Subhankar and Ashwini Tantubai will leave for Uttarakhand soon. Anesh Sheikh’s brothers who work in Himachal Pradesh have already left for Uttarakhand.
