The voting percentage in West Bengal’s third phase of election was recorded at 85 per cent. Elections were held in 31 seats in three districts – parts of Howrah, South 24 Parganas and Hooghly in this phase on April 6, Tuesday.
The seats are Basanti, Kultali, Kulpi, Raidighi, Mandirbazar, Jaynagar, Baruipur Purba, Canning Paschim, Canning Purba, Baruipur Paschim, Magrahat Purba, Magrahat Paschim, Diamond Harbour, Falta, Satgachhia, Uluberia Uttar, Uluberia Dakshin, Shyampur, Bagnan, Amta, Udaynarayanpur, Jagatballavpur, Jangipara, Haripal, Dhanekhali, Tarakeswar, Pursurah, Arambag, Goghat and Khanakul.
While South 24 Paraganas voted at 85 per cent, Howrah and Hooghly districts voted at 84 per cent each.
Elections are scheduled in eight phases in West Bengal, from March 27 to April 29. Results are out on May 2. So far, three phases of voting has been completed, with five more phases to go.
