Pranab Mukherjee could be the consensus candidate for the Prime Minister’s post, says Shiv Sena

Amidst controversies on Pranab Mukherjee’s visit to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Nagpur on Thursday, the Shiv Sena on Saturday said that the former President could be fielded as Prime Ministerial candidate if BJP fails to earn a clear majority in the next year’s general election.

Sena also came down heavily on RSS for not inviting Bal Thackeray to Nagpur as the Sena-founder always stood by his “Hindutva” and did not go for appeasement politics.

Things are no longer the same between the BJP and Shiv Sena, which has announced a few days ago that it will fight the 2019 elections without any alliance with the BJP.
