Waterlogging in various parts of Kolkata, Salt Lake and Rajarhat has caused severe inconvenience over the past two days. With more rains on the forecast from Sunday, there is apprehension among people about how this would affect their daily lives.

On Tuesday, chief minister Mamata Banerjee, had to cancel her public meeting in Kidderpore area due to waterlogging. The meeting has been rescheduled tomorrow. Banerjee is contesting the byelections from Bhawanipore seat and several meetings are lined up over the coming days. The bypolls are scheduled on September 30 and the last few days of campaigning have been affected due to the heavy rains and waterlogging.
