West Bengal president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Dilip Ghosh said that stones were pelted at his car when he left his home this afternoon for a party meeting in Hooghly district.
Ghosh alleged that the windscreen of his vehicle had been cracked due to the attack. The BJP state president pointed out that this is not the first time his car had been attacked. Earlier too – and not so long ago – his car had been targeted by goons. Joy Banerjee, his party colleague had also been similarly attacked recently.
“Our partymen are being attacked repeatedly, and many dedicated party workers have lost their lives,” Ghosh said.

The matter will be reported to the police, he said.
