The 85-year-old actor was given blood transfusion on Sunday after his hemoglobin count dropped due to internal bleeding. He has been on ventilator support for the past few days. Chatterjee had tested positive for COVID-19 on October 6 and was admitted to a nursing home on that day. Though he tested negative for coronavirus after a few days, his condition has been critical due to various comorbidity complications and due to his age.
