Union Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party top leader Amit Shah was scheduled to be in north Bengal on October 17 or 18, according to the state party’s earlier announcement. However, it is now stated that Shah is busy at the moment and the party’s national president JP Nadda will be in Siliguri on October 19 to hold a meeting with the party’s senior leadership from West Bengal.
Nadda will talk to the BJP leaders of all the districts of north Bengal during the visit.
According to leaders of the West Bengal BJP, the programme will be exactly the same as was planned earlier. Instead of October 17 or 18 it is now being held on October 19 and instead of Amit Shah, the meeting is being conducted by Nadda. Amit Shah will visit south Bengal after Durga Puja, state BJP leaders said.
