Anubrata Mondal called by CBI again, this time for post-poll violence

He is also scheduled to appear before CBI on May 27.

Trinamool Congress Birbhum district chief Anubrata Mondal has been summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to their Kolkata office again. This time, he has been called for a case related to post-poll violence in West Bengal after the election results were out in May 2021.

According to reports, he has been called for questioning on Tuesday, at the agency’s CGO complex at 1 pm.

Mondal was present in the CBI’s Nizam Palace office last week in connection with the cattle smuggling probe case. Earlier, he had reported to the CBI that he was unwell and was admitted to the state-run SSKM Hospital for several days. However, last week, he himself appeared for questioning. After the questioning, he went straight to the SSKM Hospital for a check-up and then headed to his home in Birbhum.

Though he had been called earlier in connection with post-poll violence case probe, Mondal had not been present before the CBI. Mondal is also scheduled to be appear before the CBI at the agency’s Nizam Palace office on May 27 regarding the probe on cattle smuggling case.
