The Bengal Story Bureau: Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast is preparing to launch its smallest offering, the VF 3, in the Indian market later this year. The ultra-compact, two-door electric SUV is expected to arrive in showrooms with an estimated starting price of Rs 10 lakh, directly targeting the budget-friendly urban commuter segment.
The VF 3 will be powered by an 18.64 kWh lithium-ion battery pack paired with a rear-mounted electric motor. This setup produces 43 bhp of maximum power and 110 Nm of peak torque. VinFast claims the mini SUV can deliver a driving range of up to 215 km on a single charge.
Fast Charging and Practicality
The vehicle is built to support fast-charging infrastructure, allowing the battery to replenish from 10 to 70 per cent in just 36 minutes. This capability makes it a practical alternative to premium electric two-wheelers and entry-level hatchbacks for daily city driving.

Boxy SUV Design and Dimensions
Despite its small footprint, the VF 3 features a rugged design inspired by classic off-road vehicles. It measures approximately 3,190 mm in length, 1,679 mm in width, and 1,652 mm in height. These dimensions place it right between the MG Comet EV and the Tata Tiago EV in terms of overall size.
The exterior highlights include a high ground clearance of up to 191 mm, squared wheel arches with thick black cladding, and 16-inch steel wheels. The front fascia sports a trapezoidal grille displaying VinFast’s signature V-shaped chrome logo.
Minimalist Cabin and Features
Inside, the VF 3 offers a minimalist four-seat cabin designed to maximise usable space. The dashboard is dominated by a 10-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system that supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The manufacturer has removed the traditional instrument cluster, choosing to display key driving information directly on the central screen.

Standard equipment includes manual air conditioning, a D-cut multifunction steering wheel, and fabric upholstery. For added practicality, the rear seats can fold entirely flat, expanding the total luggage capacity to an impressive 550 litres. Upon launch, the VF 3 will compete against the MG Comet EV, the Tata Tiago EV, and the upcoming Citroen e-C3 in the growing Indian electric vehicle space.
