Anuj Sharma is the new police commissioner of Kolkata. Sharma, the additional director general (law and order) of Bengal, will take over from Rajeev Kumar.
Kumar, the present commissioner, will join as the ADG and IG of the state CID. Siddh Nath Gupta, who was the ADG-Intelligence Branch, will join as the ADG (law and order).
Several other key transfers of IPS officers in the state were made today. This includes appointment of a new police commissioner for Howrah, Vishal Garg.
