Babul Supriyo faces “go back” slogan on reaching cyclone-affected Namkhana

Union minister of state Babul Supriyo reached cyclone-affected areas of Namkhana in South 24 Parganas district at around 12:30 pm on Wednesday and was faced with “go back” slogans.

He was scheduled to survey the cyclone-affected areas of South 24 Parganas on Wednesday. As he reached there, he faced some local people who shouted slogans asking him to go back as soon as he came out of his vehicle. Supriyo alleged that these were not ordinary people, but Trinamool Congress workers.

He said he had gone on an official visit and would fulfil his duty. He rode on a two-wheeler and went to a school, saying cars could not go there. The union minister also claimed that some Trinamool Congress workers were “hiding” rice and daal and had brought these out and started cooking khichuri as soon as they saw him. Then he drove his own vehicle and left the area.
Babul Supriyo said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had himself instructed him to visit some of the cyclone-affected areas.
