Babul Supriyo faces protests in Kolkata’s Bhawanipore as he entered a restaurant
His security personnel led him to his car eventually.
Babul Supriyo — Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP — faced protests from a group of people in Kolkata’s Bhawanipore on Thursday evening. He is also the party’s candidate from Tollygunge constituency for the coming Assembly elections.
The BJP leader visited a restaurant on Thursday evening, when a group of people gathered outside and started shouting slogans. They raised “Go Back” slogans to the leader. As the situation got tense, Babul Supriyo’s security personnel eventually led him from the restaurant to his vehicle.
BJP leaders alleged that the protest was organised by Trinamool Congress to embarrass and harass the Union minister of state. The Trinamool Congress however, denied this.
