West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Dilip Ghosh has been facing the ire of party workers in various parts of the state. Earlier, he faced protests from party workers in Hooghly’s Chinsurah. Now, the party chief faced protests from workers in Asansol of West Burdwan district.
Party workers have been alleging that they are facing the wrath of Trinamool Congress men, after Mamata Banerjee’s party won for the third time in the state with a landslide victory in the recent Assembly polls. Many BJP workers alleged that they have not been able to go home for fear of assault from supporters and workers of the ruling party. They also allege that those who joined the party from Trinamool Congress are being better treated. This has created discontent among various workers of BJP.
In Asansol, the BJP workers stopped discussion at a party meeting in which Ghosh was present and shouted slogans demanding “justice”.
