Bengal BJP MP Soumitra Khan issues public apology after angry outbursts

He had made statements against BJP leaders Dilip Ghosh & Suvendu Adhikari.

After angry outbursts on social media against state party chief Dilip Ghosh and Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikary, West Bengal BJP MP Soumitra Khan on Sunday came up with a public apology for his earlier remarks. Khan is also the BJP West Bengal’s young wing chief.

In his apology, Khan has promised to lead a movement against the ruling Trinamool Congress in the state. A few weeks ago, Soumitra Khan had said he was resigning as the BJP’s youth wing president in Bengal, and later withdrew the resignation after what he said was the Central leadership’s intervention.

On Sunday, he apologised for what he said was “a blunder on my part”. “I am hereby offering an apology, seeking your forgiveness. I shouldn’t have made such a comment on social media,” he said in his address.

Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh later said: “Soumitra Khan is an emotional person. I have no ill feelings for him.”
