BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari’s brother’s vehicle attacked
Voting for the first phase of election was held on Saturday.
Soumendu Adhikari – brother of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Suvendu Adhikari – on Saturday alleged that his vehicle was attacked outside a booth in Contai.
Soumendu Adhikari is also a BJP leader of Contai, an area where his vehicle was attacked. He alleged that some Trinamool Congress workers attacked him, targeted his vehicle and thrashed his driver.
Sources said his vehicle was outside a booth in Contai, and there were demonstrations and protests against him as soon as he reached there. That was when some people attacked him. While Adhikari alleged that he was stopped as he tried to stop some booths from being rigged by the Trinamool workers, the latter accused him of taking “outsiders” to the area.
