BJP releases list of 13 more candidates, including Chowringhee from where Shikha Mitra refused to contest

Here's the list of 13 candidates from phase 5 to 8.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released a list of 13 more candidates for the coming Assembly elections for the 5th to 8th phase. The list was finalised by the BJP top leadership in New Delhi. It includes the Chowringhee seat in Kolkata from where wife of senior Congress leader Somen Mitra refused to contest, alleging that she had never given her approval to the BJP to nominate her as candidate. She also said she was astonished to find her name in the BJP’s candidate list and the only occasion when she spoke with a BJP leader in recent times was when Suvendu Adhikari called on her and asked her to join the party, but she had refused right away. She also confirmed that she was not even a member of the BJP.

The new list released by the BJP shows that Debabrata Mazhi has been nominated from Chowringhee.

Rashbehari: Lt.Gen. Subrata Saha

Phase 8:

Baharampur: Subrata Moitra

Chowringhee: Debabrata Mazhi

Kashipur-Belgachhia: Shivaji Singha Roy
