BJP sit-in protest in Kolkata against killing of “party supporters”
The state wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today organised a sit in protest in Kolkata to protest what the party has alleged, was the killing of eight party workers in the state during Durga puja.
State BJP chief Dilip Ghosh has said that there is anarchy in Bengal. He said that BJP workers were being victimised, and that about 80 party workers had been killed between the panchayat elections and the Lok Sabha elections.
The state BJP leaders are planning to meet the President of India and Union home minister Amit Shah, to seek justice.
However, Trinamool Congress leader Partha Chatterjee has said that the BJP should first decide whether or not the persons were actually their party members as BJP and RSS leaders were themselves making contradictory statements on this.
