The Bharatiya Janata Party’s West Bengal Mahila Morcha president Locket Chatterjee said that anyone trying to disrupt and stop the party’s “rath yatra” will get crushed under its wheels.
The party’s national president Amit Shah will inaugurate three “rath yatras” on December 5, 7 and 9. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also address a public meeting at the end of the rath yatra. The party is trying to attract voters through the rath yatra by covering all the Lok Sabha constituencies with an eye on the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
Chatterjee said that the rath yatra will going to restore democracy in Bengal and any attempt to stop it won’t be tolerated. “Anyone trying to stop it will get crushed under the wheels of the chariot,” she said.
The ruling Trinamool Congress reacted sharply. The party’s general secretary Partha Chatterjee said that the BJP leaders were encouraging communal discord and trying to disturb the stability of the state.
