Bombs found in Birbhum’s Nanoor day after a child died in a blast in Burdwan

Crude bombs also found in Bhangar, Chapra.

As the first phase of elections approach on March 27, crude bombs are being found in various places across West Bengal.

After a seven-year-old boy died in a crude bomb blast in Burdwan on Monday, 35 crude bombs were found at Nanoor, in Birbhum district on Tuesday. There are reports that crude bombs were also recovered from Bhangar in South 24-Parganas and Chapra in Nadia. At least 20 bombs were also found in the Nadia district on Monday.

Meanwhile, on Monday, eyewitnesses said two children were playing outside a local club at Subhaspally Road in Burdwan town and they saw some crude bombs hidden in a corner, which they mistook as balls. One of the boys died from the powerful blast and the other was injured.

A political slugfest started between the ruling Trinamool Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the bomb blast incident. Union minister of state Babul Supriyo said that the Trinamool Congress is synonymous with violence and also they will soon face the music after the BJP forms the new state government in Bengal. Trinamool MP Saugata Roy said that the BJP is maligning the Trinamool just to get votes.
