Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee discharged after post-COVID care, returns home

He had tested positive for COVID-19.

Former West Bengal chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee was discharged from a nursing home in Kolkata on Wednesday where he was undergoing treatment for post-COVID-19 care. He returned to his Palm Avenue home.

Last week, he was discharged from a city hospital after he had tested negative, but since he required to be kept under close observation for likely post COVID-19 complications, he was taken to another nursing home from there. His wife Mira Bhattacharjee, also admitted at the same nursing home, was discharged as well on Wednesday. Their health condition is stable.

Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, 77, is a patient of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and has been ailing for the past few years.
