Calcutta High Court asks IPS officer Damayanti Sen to supervise 4 rape case probes in Bengal
She has been praised for her work in the Park Street rape case.
The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday asked IPS officer Damayanti Sen to supervise the investigations in four recent cases of rape in West Bengal. Sen is a 1996-batch officer of the West Bengal cadre who is now Special Commissioner of Police (II) in Kolkata Police.
The High Court has asked her to supervise the probes of the rape cases in Matia, Englishbazar, Deganga and Bansdroni. The next hearing of the case will be held on April 20. She had probed the Park Street rape case and had been praised for her work.
If she is does not take up the work assigned, then the Calcutta High Court has to be informed about it.
