Raju Sahani, chairperson of Halishahar municipality of North 24 Parganas district was arrested today by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with a chit fund case. Some reports said that a huge amount of cash was found from his house.
The CBI conducted raids in his house, and retrieved huge amount of cash, the reports said. His father, a CPIM leader, is known in the area.
