The CPI(M) has been showcaused by the West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights (WBCPCR) for attacking a school bus in Barasat, in the northern fringes of Kolkata on Tuesday, the first day of the two-day strike.
“A show cause notice is being sent to senior CPIM leader Sujan Chakrabarty and other office bearers of the CPI(M). The Commission is aggrieved over such dangerous, unconstitutional move by a political party. It is a violation of child rights,” an official said.
The Commission expressed its “grave concern on this issue where even children are not being spared from violent demonstrations”, a press release said.
