Coronavirus cases in Kolkata now 3, student from Habra recently returned from Scotland

The number of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in West Bengal has increased to three. A young woman tested positive on Friday night. She had recently returned from Scotland. She is a resident of Habra in the Barasat area of North 24 Parganas.

The earlier two cases of COVID-19 too had come from outside – both were young men who were in London recently. The young woman from West Bengal who has now tested positive, had earlier gone to a local hospital, but her symptoms led the healthcare authorities recommend that she should go to Beliaghata Infectious Diseases Hospital in Kolkata.

She was admitted to the Beliaghata hospital on Friday and her reports tested positive. Later, another round of tests were done and that too came positive. Her family members have been quarantined already. However, a list of all those who may have come in contact with her, is being prepared. The government will decide how many of these people will have to be sent to isolation.
