The number of Coronavirus suspects admitted to the isolation ward of Beliaghata Infectious Diseases (ID) Hospital in Kolkata increased to eight on Friday.
A woman and two young men were admitted on Friday morning. The woman, a resident of Kolkata’s Kasba had recently travelled to Singapore. One of the men is a resident of Tollygunge and returned from Kuwait recently. The other lives in Beliaghata and had travelled recently to Thailand.
Swab samples of four patients out of the eight admitted have been sent for testing.
Meanwhile, the state health department has formed a special contact team which is in constant touch with the Union Home Ministry and updating them about the situation in the state. The team is also constantly in touch with all the hospitals and the district administrations across the state.
The team is coordinating between district health officials and the Chief Medical Officer Of Health (CMOH) in the districts about the latest directives received from the Centre.

Meanwhile, another man in Delhi tested positive on Friday thus taking the total number of Coronavirus cases in India to 31. The patient had travelled to Thailand and Malaysia recently.
