COVID-19: Bengal’s fire services department to conduct state-wide sanitizing drive in public places

The department of fire and emergency services in West Bengal will sanitize public places across the state to check the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). Minister-in-charge of the department, Sujit Bose held a meeting on this with officials earlier this week.
Firefighters in Kolkata have already been conducting regular sanitization drives in various public places of the city such as roads, hospitals, quarantine centres, government offices and residential buildings (for the latter, where COVID-19 cases were reported).
This will be followed for public places in other districts too.
Firefighters will also sanitize trucks entering and leaving the state carrying essential commodities aross Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan borders.
The work is being carried out through sprinkler vehicles and handheld fogging machines.
