COVID-19: India’s daily death rises by record 6,148 after Bihar revises data
Bihar added to its fatalities some "backlog" data.
The COVID-19 figures in India on Thursday saw a record rise in deaths over the last 24 hours after the Nitish Kumar government in Bihar added 3,951 backlog fatalities to the state’s data.
Deaths from Covid-19 thus increased by 6,148, pushing the country’s total deaths to 3,59,676 since the pandemic outbreak in the country in January 2020. For the third consecutive day, India recorded less than 1 lakh new cases though. With 94,052 new cases in the past one day, the country now has a total 2,91,83,121 cases.
