Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal says BJP intends to change Constitution, end elections if they return to power
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal today said at the United India Rally that the Narendra Modi-Amit Shah duo intend to change the Constitution and put an end to elections if they return to power. Kejriwal said they will do what Adolf Hitler did in 1930s.
Kejriwal today said: “Amit Shah is saying that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comes to power in 2019, they will continue to rule till 2050. How will they do it?” He added that there was a premonition that they would change the country’s Constitution and stop any further election. Kejriwal drew a parallel to Adolf Hitler. “When Hitler was elected as the chancellor of Germany [in 1933], he changed the constitution and stopped election. It will be the same here,” Kejriwal warned.
He said that “no matter what”, the BJP must be stopped from coming back to power. “Kuchh bhi ho”, Kejriwal said, adding that both the people who had come to attend the meeting and the leaders on the dais should remember that the BJP must be stopped at any cost.
“I came here today with a lot of worry, but now, after attending the meeting I can go back peacefully,” he said.
