EC moves Jawed Shamim from ADG law and order post, brings Jag Mohan in his place
Shamim was posted in charge of Fire Services.
A day after Assembly elections for West Bengal were announced, the Election Commission transferred senior IPS officer Jawed Shamim from the position of ADG law and order. Shamim was in charge of the law and order situation across the state. In his place, the EC posted IPS officer Jag Mohan, who was DG fire services.
An order was issued on Saturday by Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar transferring Shamim to the position of DG Fire Services, in the rank of additional director general. Shamim has also been given charge of civil defence.
