The Bengal Story Bureau: Filmmaker Raj Nidimoru has officially confirmed that the acclaimed director duo Raj and DK are gearing up to begin production on a massive Hindi feature film later this year. The announcement has reignited industry speculation that the project is their highly anticipated Salman Khan superhero film.
Known for dominating the digital space over the last few years with blockbuster series such as The Family Man, Farzi, Guns and Gulaabs, and Citadel: Honey Bunny, the filmmaking pair is now preparing for a grand return to mainstream theatrical cinema.
The Return to Theatres
Speaking during an interaction with Idle Brain Live, Nidimoru shared specific updates on the production house’s upcoming slate. He confirmed that alongside their international commitments, a major Bollywood project is next on the cards.

“A Hollywood film script has just started, and it is in the pre-production stage. Another series is in the development. Our Hindi movie almost starts its production,” Nidimoru said, sealing rumours regarding their immediate cinematic plans. The filmmakers have built a reputation for blending dark humour with high-stakes action, and their return to the big screen carries significant box office expectations.
A New Cinematic Universe
While Nidimoru kept the lead actor’s identity under wraps during the interview, multiple entertainment reports indicate the project is a massive superhero film designed for a global audience, with Salman Khan headlining the cast.
According to industry insiders, the production team is targeting October 2026 to begin filming. The timeline allows the directors to complete extensive pre-visualisation and technical preparatory work required for the visual effects. If confirmed, the project will mark Khan’s first full-fledged venture into the superhero genre, exploring a completely new action space for the veteran star.

Casting for the female lead remains actively underway. Sources close to the production have firmly dismissed earlier rumours suggesting that actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu was signed for the role, clarifying that the makers will finalise the casting in the coming months.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan has a heavily booked schedule ahead. The superstar recently announced a separate large-scale collaboration with director Vamshi Paidipally and producer Dil Raju. Tentatively titled SVC63, that action project is also slated to begin its filming schedule in 2026.
