Governor calls state education minister Bratya Basu & dept. secretary to Raj Bhawan
CBI is probing former education ministers Partha Chatterjee and Paresh Adhikary.
West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has called state Education minister Bratya Basu and department secretary Manish Jain to Raj Bhawan today.
Dhankhar himself took to Twitter to announce this: “Shri Bratyabrata Basu Roy Chowdhury, WB Education Minister and Shri Manish Jain, IAS, Principal Secretary Department Education are scheduled to call on Governor Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar at Raj Bhawan at noon today.”
This is significant under the background of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing the School Service Commission (SSC) appointments scam and former department minister Partha Chatterjee being called for it. The department’s junior minister Paresh Adhikary is also facing probe by the CBI for alleged illegal appointment of his daughter in a state-aided school after he took over.
