Kolkata Police commissioner Rajeev Kumar tells CBI he will be in Shillong for the meeting on February 8

Kolkata Police commissioner Rajeev Kumar has written to the director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Rishi Kumar Shukla that he will be available in Shillong on February 8.

This follows the Supreme Court order today which told the CBI that Kumar cannot be arrested. The court asked Kumar to cooperate with the CBI in the investigation.

Kumar had earlier requested the CBI to decide on a “neutral” place – neither Kolkata nor Delhi – where the two sides could meet and “discuss” the investigation of the Saradha chit fund scam. He had written several times to the CBI on this issue. The apex court today accepted this, and it has been decided that such a meeting will take place in Shillong. The court has asked Kumar to appear before the CBI before February 20.
