Late actor Soumitra Chatterjee’s wife Deepa Chatterjee dies in Kolkata at 83

She was ailing and under treatment for diabetes.

Late actor legend Soumitra Chatterjee’s wife Deepa Chatterjee died at a Kolkata hospital in the early hours of Sunday. She was 83. On November 15, 2020, Soumitra Chatterjee died at 85 after battling for life for weeks at a Kolkata hospital. He was admitted to the hospital after testing positive for COVID-19. He had however, recovered from COVID-19.

Their daughter Paulami Bose said that her mother Deepa Chatterjee was admitted to a hospital in Kolkata’s Beliaghata and had died last night due to kidney failure. She was suffering from diabetes for many years.

Deepa Chatterjee had acted in some films, and had worked with stars Uttam Kumar and Supriya Choudhury in the film 1970s film Bilambita Loy and in Durga (2001). She also appeared in Catherine Berge’s documentary on Soumitra Chatterjee titled Gaach (1998).
