Love Jihad law in Bengal if voted to power, says BJP leader Narottam Mishra
The MP Home Minister was speaking in West Burdwan district.
Madhya Pradesh Home Minister, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Narottam Mishra said on Thursday that if his party comes to power in Bengal, the love jihad law will be introduced in the state.
Mishra said this at Durgapur main gate area of West Burdwan district in presence of local MP, BJP’s SS Ahluwalia. Mishra, who has been assigned the responsibility of 48 Assembly seats in the state, said, “BJP will come to power in Bengal this time, and once it comes to power, we will bring the love jihad law here,” Mishra said. He said cow protection laws too will be brought into the state.
West Bengal goes to the polls in a few months, depending on when the Election Commission announces the dates. However, it is expected that elections will be held in April-May 2021 in several phases in 294 seats.
According to Mishra, people all over the country are looking at the Bengal elections this time, and it is no ordinary election as this will be about the BJP’s coming into power in this state. He appealed to people to take Bengal back to its earlier glorious times.
The BJP has been introducing the love jihad law in several states where it is in power – such as Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Assam and so on, and it has been opposed by the Opposition parties across the country.
