Mamata Banerjee asks people to stop BJP from spreading unrest in the hills

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee reiterated on Wednesday in Kurseong that she won’t let the National Register of Citizens and the Citizenship Amendment Bill to be ever implemented in West Bengal.
She asked the people of Darjeeling and Kalimpong to give her party the chance to do developmental work for them and not let any “outside forces” to disrupt peace in the area.
While speaking of the “outside forces”, she accused them of spreading unrest in the hills every two years since her government came to power in state for the second time in 2016. Banerjee said that the saffron party is hindering all developmental work that she had planned for Darjeeeling and Kalimpong. She appealed to the people of Darjeeling to not let the district go under the control of saffron party in order to maintain peace and order in the area.
She expressed her fears regarding the allegedly deteriorating conditions in hills saying that there has been a marked drop in the number of tourists in the region. She said that there’s an atmosphere of terror prevailing in the hills. She urged people to maintain peace and stability in the area.
The CM also expressed her discontent about the poor condition of roads, sanitation and waste management in the districts and asked the authorities to take care of the pending tasks.
She asked for reports of housing projects for the backward communities of the hills. Banerjee also demanded audit of the expenses made by various developmental boards in both the districts.
