Mamata Banerjee seriously injured in Nandigram, returning to Kolkata
She alleged that it was a planned attack on her.
West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee was seriously injured at Nandigram on Wednesday evening. She is being brought to Kolkata tonight, changing her earlier programme of returning to Kolkata on Thursday morning.
Banerjee alleged that this was a planned attack and she was pushed from behind. There were no senior police officers by her side when she fell.
She was at a programme in Ranichowk area of Nandigram when she was allegedly pushed from behind by a few people and she fell on the ground. She was injured on her leg, and may have even been injured on the head. She was taken and made to sit in the vehicle, but her pain kept increasing. Doctors advised that she should be taken to Kolkata. She was being taken back to Kolkata for immediate treatment in SSKM hospital.
