Kolkata woke up to early morning rains on Thursday just as the weather forecast had indicated. Kolkata, North and South 24 Paraganas witnessed rainfall in various spells since morning. However, the humidity that marked Wednesday, continued on Thursday despite the rainfall.
According to the weather office, Kolkata and its surrounding areas will have cloudy sky and several spells of rain throughout the day. But there is no forecast for heavy rainfall in the city and surrounding areas. The maximum temperature is likely to remain at 34 degree Celsius and the minimum will be 28 degree Celsius.
There is also rainfall in several parts of north Bengal. Heavy rainfall was reported in Cooch Behar district. In several parts of Malda district, alert has been sounded as river water rushed into village areas. The administration is keeping an eye on the situation and acting accordingly, said officials.
