No need for CBI probe into fake vaccine camps in Kolkata now, says Calcutta High Court
A probe is being conducted by a Special Investigating Team (SIT).
The Calcutta High Court on Friday turned down a PIL seeking a CBI probe into the alleged fake vaccination row, saying that it is not required at this stage.
The court also said that it wouldn’t interfere in state matters. The Advocate General informed the court that a chargesheet will be filed in the case soon.
The alleged mastermind in the case, Debanjan Deb, who claimed to be an IAS officer working as joint commissioner of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC), had organised fake vaccination camps in Kolkata. He was arrested on June 23 after Trinamool Congress MP Mimi Chakraborty was given a vaccine dose for which she did not receive a certificate for which she alerted the police.
